"Desire" Personal series
The "Desire" series is a profound visual exploration of the complex relationship between luxury, longing, and the multifaceted nature of human desire. Through an artful juxtaposition of organic and opulent elements, these works transform the familiar into an insightful commentary on our relentless pursuit of value and gratification.
In each piece, everyday fruits—symbols of natural abundance and primal desires—are intervened and transfigured. Lustrous pearls, emblems of rarity and luxury, replace seeds, intertwine like chains, or fill the pulp, elevating the perishable to a state of artificial sumptuousness. This metamorphosis, reminiscent of artists like Dalí in their ability to merge the real and the imaginary, creates a thought-provoking visual tension.
However, the series goes beyond the mere celebration of luxury. By introducing elements of alteration or decay, such as the subtle texture evoking mold on the apple, "Desire" hints at the consequences, the transience, or even the corruption inherent in unbridled pursuit. The works confront us with the duality of desire: its capacity to beautify and enrich, but also to transform the natural into something artificial or bring it to a point of saturation and deterioration.
"Desire" is a meditation on the seduction of luxury, the constant redefinition of value, and the intricate dance between gratification and its implications. It invites the viewer to question the true nature of their desires and the price of opulence in a world where the ephemeral and the eternal collide.
